10 Motorcycle Camping Gift Ideas For Any Budget

If you’re reading this blog, I’m guessing you fall into one of two groups looking for a camping gift:

  1. You have a friend or loved one who loves to camp off of their motorcycle, but you need some help finding a great camping gift that they’ll find both useful and amazing.
  2. You are a friend or loved one who loves to camp off of your motorcycle, but you think your friends or loved ones might need some help finding you a great camp gift that you’ll find both useful and amazing….so you sent this blog to them as a subtle hint… (well played, group #2)

In either case, you’ve come to the right place. My two passions are camping/riding adventures on my motorcycles and inspiring/facilitating the adventures of others and I want to help you find the perfect gift, whether you’re giving or receiving.

Here are ten useful and amazing motocamping items that would make great gifts for the motorcycle camper on your list, in order of price from lowest to highest:

1. Motocamp Nerd Flask: $23.95

flask camping gift

Most motorcycle campers would agree that when it comes to essential motorcycle camping equipment, few things rank higher than a delicious beverage to enjoy around the campfire. Space is at a premium when camping off your bike, so transporting your booze in a compact vessel like the MotoCamp Nerd flask is crucial. This sturdy nine-ounce flask has stiff walls that’ll easily stand up to being bounced around in a pannier all day, and the logo isn’t half bad either.

2. 4L Sea to Summit Pack Tap: $26.95

packtap water camping gift

Finding water for cooking, cleaning, and drinking while motocamping can be challenging, particularly if you’re dispersed camping far from an established campground with onsite facilities. Enter the Sea to Summit Pack Tap (also known as the PNW Green Manta Ray), a lightweight, flexible, and easy to strap down way to carry 4 liters of fresh water wherever two wheels takes you.

3. Trekology Portable Camping Side Table (Small Version): $27.99

Having a compact table that’ll easily fit on your motorcycle or in a pannier is a Godsend for those campsites without picnic tables. It is so nice to have this little knee-height platform for cooking and coffee making, and it makes a pretty handy place to set your beverage while you’re sitting around the campfire.

4. Bigfoot Bushcraft Starter Pack (Firestarters, Ferro Rod, Compact Tin): $34.95

A wise man once said, “camping without a campfire is just sitting in the dark in the woods.” There are as many firestarting methods as there are motorcycle campers, but few are as easy and fun as using a ferro rod to light one of these compact, waterproof firestarters from Bigfoot Bushcraft. You can buy the pieces separately, but I think the combo of firestarters, ferro rod, and tin make an amazing gift package.

5. Mora Bushcraft Black: $45 (or Companion): $18

A good blade has many uses while camping, and Swedish company Mora makes some of the highest-quality yet somehow still inexpensive blades on the market. I’ve been using a Mora Bushcraft Black for several years now and it’s served me well whether I’m using it to baton kindling or slice through a delicious medium-rare steak (sometimes one right after the other).

If you’re looking for a more economical option, the Mora Companion is a solid (albeit a little less thick) blade that can be had for less than twenty bucks.

6. Tusk Compact Chair (Large Version): $47.88

I am not a small man, so sitting in most of the lightweight backpacking-style camp chairs on the market feels like crouching on the edge of disaster to me. Not so with the Tusk Compact Chair from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. I’ve been using the large version for 9 months now, through countless trips and more than my fair share of less than graceful plops into it from a standing position, and it’s held up beautifully. It’s comfortable, sturdy and fits in my pannier.

7. Jetboil Flash: $109.95 Java Kit: $31.50 or Combo Kit: $119.95

Some of my favorite moments of any motorcycle camping trip come when I’m sitting by a campfire, enjoying the quiet of the morning and a hot cup of coffee. The Jetboil Flash, true to its name, boils water faster than just about any other option I’ve ever seen, and with the Java Kit you can transform it into a full-on fireside French Press. The Jetboil is also a fantastic way to boil water for dehydrated meals and many other campsite cooking options.

8. Leatherman Signal: $119.95

There are a lot of multi tools out there, but the Leatherman Signal is one of the only options that’s specifically designed with camping and survival in mind. It has a ton of useful tools for camping like a firestarter, saw, and survival whistle, but still includes old standbys like a sturdy set of pliers. Which means you’ll be prepared for just about anything, whether you need to tighten a loose bolt on your motorcycle or perform some impromptu frontier dentistry.

9. ToGoPower Advance 240 Power Station: $179.99

Admittedly, a power station of this size is definitely a luxury, but for anyone who needs to charge multiple devices over multiple days or needs to power a CPAP or fan overnight while camping, the ToGoPower Advance 240 Power Station is a great option. It’s big enough to last through several nights of camping but compact enough to fit in a side case. The built in lights seem to last forever and do a great job illuminating the campsite or inside of your tent at night. I’ve used mine on several trips now and have been impressed with the battery life and build quality.

10. Big Agnes Diamond Park 0 Sleeping Bag: $399.95 + Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Ultra Sleeping Pad: $89.95

sleeping bag camper gift

The Big Agnes Diamond Park series bags may be expensive, but I can unequivocally say that mine is the most comfortable camping sleep setup I’ve ever used. These bags feature a unique design that attaches to the sleeping pad beneath, allowing you to move around inside the bag without worrying about it becoming twisted or rolling off of the pad. Dual zippers make the top quilt feel more like covers on a bed than a traditional sleeping bag, and the whole thing packs down incredibly small for easy transport on a motorcycle. Definitely not a budget-friendly option, but for the serious motorcycle camper who spends a lot of nights in the woods, it’s a very worthwhile investment.

MotoCampNerd.com is the only online store specifically dedicated to the needs of motorcycle campers, and has a wide selection of motorcycle camping gear to choose from.
