This is a vertical-compression bag designed to compress and hold soft items in a spherical shape - hamburger form vs. hot dog shape (see Waterproof Compression Bag). Four vertically-oriented compression straps work in concert with EXPED’s FlatValve to simultaneously purge air from the bag and reduce the volume of clothing and sleeping bags. The spherical shape works well for filling the bottom corners of a backpack. The roll-top closure seals out water for all but submersion and factory-taped seams do the same. A white internal coating creates a bright interior and 70-denier taffeta nylon offers a balance of durability and light weight. A grip-strap on the base serves as a counter-pull when extracting items from the top of the bag. The FlatValve turns this stuff sack into a sleeping mat inflation device when the EXPED Schnozzel inflation tube is attached.
