Dork in the Road Neck Gaiter
We are an authorized distributor of Dork in the Road merch.
*Version 2 with updated design.*
The humble neck gaiter may be the most versatile and underrated piece of riding gear of all time. Whether you’re trying to keep the wind off your neck in the winter or the sun from burning it in the summer, there’s always a good reason to keep one of these on you while riding.
This Dork in the Road-branded gaiter is ultra lightweight, breathable, and moisture wicking. It’s built with a perforated micro-pore 4-way stretch fabric that keeps you protected from the blistering sun, dries quickly when damp, provides a barrier for cutting cold winds, and can also be worn as a face mask.
Other potential uses:
Keep your head warm on a cold night.
Wear it on your head under your helmet for moisture-wicking and to help your helmet slide over earbuds.
Keep bees out of your collar while riding.
Keep the dust off your face (and out of your teeth) when riding in the back of the pack.
Get it wet and wear it for evaporative cooling on hot days.
Use it to clean off your glasses or face mask.
Pull it up over your head for sun protection when off the bike.
Wear it as a sleep mask for those summer days when the sun comes up at 5.
Wear it as a headband to practice karate on a stump near camp.
Great neck gaiter! Large enough to wear on head and cover neck on cold days. Loose enough that you don’t feel like you’re going to be strangled. Nice gear from fellow dork on the road.
Love the neck Gaitor! I use it on my neck when it’s chilly. I pull it up over my mouth and nose when it’s a bit colder. I use it as a hat when my helmets off and I use it to clean my riding glasses when I’m in a pinch. Bonus that everyone I put it on, it reminds me of my internet riding buddy!
Great gaiter. Helps keep the collar of my riding jacket from chaffing my neck, but it does not cause overheating. I plan to add another to my next order, just to make sure I have a spare. You never know when having an extra will come in handy, either for using as a pillowcase or lending to a buddy.
I've been using another brand gaiter that is tighter, single ply material. The "Dork" version feels like a 2-ply and fits much looser. It's comfortable, breaths well and doesn't feel hot when is warms up. It does a great job keeping the wind out on colder days. Great product!
I mostly bought this to support the store and to support Dork in the Road, but I like it better than the other ones I've got. Nice fabric and well made. It's a bit bigger than others I have which is nice for my absurdly thick neck. But if you have a skinny neck, that might be a problem.
I learned about this product through Ben's (Dork In The Road) YouTube podcast with Grace (Graceful Renegade). He listed it as one of his top ten must have's while riding. HE WAS RIGHT! I used it riding all around Moab, UT and it kept my neck cooler and sunburn free! The material is great and I love the pattern. I love supporting the motovlog community on YouTube. I thought this would be just another neck gaitor to use while while riding, but I found it to be of far superior quality in fabric and manufacture. It's tight enough to be snug where it should, yet stretches enough to fit my oversized head. I particularly like the soft material. It's very sleek feeling.
