“A Crash Course for the Motorcyclist”
Do you know what to do when a rider goes down and what to do before the ambulance arrives?
Class sponsors have made this training available at a reduced cost to help keep riders trained and safe. This class is valued at $200 and includes lunch and snacks both days.

WHAT: ASM Basic + Advanced 2 Day Class
Instructor-Led ASM Basic 100 series class on Saturday and Advanced 300 series class on Sunday. This is a 2 day class. 8 each day
DAY 1
100 Series Basic
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Use P.A.C.T. to determine priorities while approaching a crash scene
- Explain the importance of having both knowledge and supplies to assist at a scene
- Give examples of how Good Samaritan Laws work and what constitutes “Gross Negligence”
- Explain personal protection and cross-contamination
- Give 3 examples of traffic control techniques
- Verbalize how to get an injured person out from underneath a motorcycle
- Explain how and when to move an injured person
- Use assessment skills to gather information critical to determining the severity of the injuries and gather information for the EMS
- Explain the importance of the mechanisms of injury as it relates to injuries
- Verbalize what information is important to relay to the EMS
- Demonstrate how to do a rapid head-to-toe assessment using ABCSS of trauma to determine the priorities of treatment
- Explain how to perform Jaw Thrust rescue breathing to open an airway in trauma
- Explain how to determine if a person is breathing and how to rescue breath for them if it is determined that they are not breathing on their own.
- Verbalize 4 ways to control bleeding
- Verbalize 3 kinds of shock & which one you have the most control over at a crash scene
- Explain why less movement of the spine is better.
Day 2
300 Series Advanced
Learn to be a leader at a scene as well as how to assist the EMS when they arrive. Advanced airway management, common medical emergencies, assisting the EMS with extrication, femoral and radial pressure points, detailed head to toe, role play, and more are taught in this 7-hour Instructor-led class (8 hours with a lunch break).
